Since 2015, DSPII Waypoint (Discovering Soldiers' Potential "the Second Time Around") has provided a one-stop center for veterans and their families. Veteran services are brought together in one place, so families can handle their transition needs without running from office to office.

What they offer

  • Case management: help connecting with the right resources and cutting through the red tape.
  • Benefits counseling: VA disability compensation, pensions, education benefits, insurance, VA health care enrollment, and state-level benefits.
  • Employment services: resume preparation, job coaching, and connections to employers hiring veterans.
  • Behavioral health and readjustment counseling: in-house services and referrals to outside agencies or the VA.
  • Legal services: low- or no-cost help with issues like employment, child support, guardianship, and eviction through community partners.
  • Financial counseling and coaching: tax preparation assistance, financial literacy, and personal money coaching.
  • Education support: benefit applications, choosing schools and majors, and financial aid planning.
  • Housing and emergency services: supportive services for veteran families moving into permanent housing, plus emergency help with food, clothing, and crisis needs.
  • Justice-involved veterans: guidance on VA benefits and reentry support.
